I'm sorry. This is the end of the free content.
The site has shown you the basic business model concepts. I call them the "statics."
Putting these concepts into action, the "dynamics," is a different matter.
I've taught many executives who, upon hearing the concepts, dive in and on their own begin to incorporate the concepts into their organization's strategy development.
If you're like me, you'll want to read more about the different strategic paths you can pursue. Here are my related recommendations:
Chickens and Pigs: The Book To learn more about the strategic issues associated with each type of business model, and to learn the strategies to deal with them, there's no finer place to go than the print version of this site.
The Financial Times is the world's best business newspaper. Their periodic strategy inserts are state-of-the-art.
The Wall Street Journal is America's business newspaper. Their strategy coverage is so robust that I regularly bring their published stories into my classroom.
Harvard Business Review This is where the cutting edge strategy ideas are published, and the audience is you, not academics. I can't say this strongly enough: Must reading.
Tracking Strategies: Towards a General Theory of Strategy Formation Most strategy professors today treat strategy as a form of applied economics. Henry Mintzberg, in contrast, treats strategy as a management domain. Treat yourself to this volume. You'll wish all of your management books were this thoughtful, this readable, and this insightful.
Finally, it's possible you'll want my help. If so, send me a note.
